After knee surgery and kidney stone surgery in the previous year, James got on a health kick this past spring. He got in really good shape over the spring and summer by lifting weights every day and playing basketball as much as possible. Then, he tore his rotator cuff. He's now doing "prehab" to prepare for surgery during his spring break from USU. He is getting ready to teach Constitutional Law and First Amendment classes at USU this semester, which starts January 7th. He also has to spend a lot of time writing so that he will publish, rather than perish, in his profession. Each night, at dinner, the kids beg him to play the "Quiz Game." He asks them questions about geography, history, math, astronomy, physics, etc. They've learned a lot from this. In the past few weeks he's got little sleep. Sick kids have given him constant night duty nursing fevers, cleaning up vomit, and scrubbing out diarrhea, while Kathleen blissfully rests with eye shades and ear plugs (what a sweatheart!).
